Brown eyed baker is right, they are pretty irresistible! I bet it was because of the shortening. =P I still don’t know the difference taste/texture wise between shortening and butter. I was pretty sure they weren’t going to come out good, because I cut the recipe in half and kept screwing up the measurements. But they were sooo good, and really really soft. Maybe even a little softer than they were supposed to be, I might have put in a little too much milk. Tasted great with nutty ice cream!
Next time, I want to stuff them with mini-snickers or other chocolate. And I want to make the peanut butter filling that won the Pillsbury Cook-off million dollar prize last year.
